MikroTik
How to Configure MikroTik Hotspot from Start to Finish
Use this guide as a practical framework, then adapt each step to your network, customers and operating policies.
01
Set up the WAN and LAN interfaces first
Configure the WAN interface with a static IP or PPPoE from your upstream provider, then create a separate LAN/bridge interface for hotspot clients with its own subnet — never mix management and client traffic on the same interface.
02
Create the hotspot server and DHCP pool
Use the Hotspot Setup wizard (or manual /ip hotspot setup) to bind the hotspot server to the client-facing bridge, assign a DHCP pool sized for your expected concurrent users, and set the DNS name customers will see on the login page.
03
Connect the API user before going live
Create a dedicated API user with a strong password and only the policy rights SiscoHotspot needs (read, write, api, rest-api) — never reuse the full-admin account — then test the connection from Router Management before selling your first voucher.
